IT Executive – Cobol Developer (Core Insurance)

1. System maintenance and development: 

• Maintain and enhance the core insurance system (COBOL language, Smart/400). 
• Run periodic batch jobs to update core insurance data and generate reports. 
• Extract data and reports from the insurance system for data analysis and reporting purposes. 
• Communicate with end-users to analyze requests and deliver appropriate solutions. 
• Assess, clarify, and document requirements from business departments for system upgrades. Oversee project implementation, including User Acceptance Testing (UAT). 
• Work directly with outsourced consultants on relevant insurance projects. 
• Explore and operate core insurance applications. 
• Provide production issue support for the core insurance system. 
• Develop new functions based on business requirements. 

2. Project participation: 

• Collaborate on IT projects to support the company's business objectives. 

3. IT help desk support: 

• Address IT issues and troubleshoot problems related.

• Experience & Skills: 

• • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a SMART/400, COBOL developer. Knowledge of XML and SQL is essential. 
  • Familiarity with RPG and P/400 system is an advantage. 
  • General knowledge of the insurance industry is preferred. 

• Good at English.
